Relaxation of records at community clubs

16 September 2026

Did you know that the liquor and gaming regulator has extended the relaxation requirements for community clubs in Queensland about keeping records in relation to guests of members and visitors to the club, and the requirement for them to live within a specific distance of the club?

Until 31 March 2027, the regulator has relaxed the requirement for clubs with a community club licence to record information about visitors and guests, and only sell liquor to visitors if they live at least 15 kilometres from the club. This measure offers flexibility to clubs and eases operational constraints. It allows them to continue creating value for members and the community, rather than getting caught up with red-tape and maintaining the guest register, which can be inspected at any time.

At Clutch Legal, we can assist you with all aspects of your engagement with the regulator.
